Who wouldn't like the sound of "Glamour is ... a knowing marriage of fashion with sumpteous comfort. A fearless blending ... shamelessly smart, elegant, and timeless." Add to that a few words about Villa style: botanical blues and greens... neutral settings, again mixed with the lines and curves of ornate early furniture that is presented in a restrained fashion. All for a look of gracious, understated elegance. Forget the lottery, I'd settle for a surprise makeover by Ethan Allen.
Is there anyone else who feels their home just doesn't quite get there? Didn't they forget to mention the inevitable crumbs on the carpet, or the water ring on the side table? The pile here and the shoes there? Maybe a piece or two of Chippendale would help. Or I could sell the Chippendale and buy what I really like... The good news is that my style is just that - mine. There really is no name for it, it varies from year to year and season to season, and never looks quite "done", but, rather, lived in. And lived in with love never goes out of style.Want to dream like I am? Take the short pictorial quiz for yourself: click here.
This is a great post! And you're right-- your style is your style. I'm glad you're not allowing a furniture store's marketing tactic to box you in. I'm enjoying looking around your blog!
